Basic requirements
  • A Bachelors degree in Finance, Financial Management, Economics or related field. Certification for ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, CFA etc will be a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in using efficient accounting software.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in financial management services of donor funded agribusiness youth hub or related projects.

Primary responsibilities
  • Financial reporting of overall project performance including in all the countries where the project is being implemented;
  • Ensure that the project operations are carried out in accordance with sound financial management and procurement practices;
  • Ensure preparation and submission of all relevant documents including Special Account (SA) advance and replenishment requests, direct payment requests and SA payment justifications etc
  • Assists the FAS Manager in keeping track of the project budget to ensure that funds are used according to the funding requirements and to propose corrective actions if needed;
  • Assists the timely execution and control of monthly/yearly accountancy closure, financial reports, audits and all service contracts for the project;
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements;
  • Processing invoices and payment receipts for transactions to ensure transparent accounting practices.
  • Ensure that the finance unit complies with project donor's laid down policies, procedures and regulations;
  • Submission of Quarterly Progress Reports (QPR) with financial information to the Bank for project implementation monitoring;
  • Works with the Project Coordinator and the Finance & Administrative Manager to ensure project financials align with project technical guidelines/components;
  • Works with finance officers at AAIN and IITA in disbursement and financial reporting in line with the template and guideline created; and
  • Perform duties reasonably assigned by the project management.
