ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME

Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited ("Midwestern"), the operator of the Umusadege field in PML 22 (formerly OML 56), is a leading indigenous oil and gas exploration company with operations in Umusadege, Kwale, Delta State, and its corporate head office at, Lagos State.

Since its inception in 1999 and the commencement of operations in 2001, Midwestern has established itself as a reputable player in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. Midwestern is deeply committed to the socio-economic development of its host communities, consistently demonstrating dedication to sustainable operations and positive community engagement. Midwestern embarked on various schemes that deliver enduring progress to the indigenes of its host communities and Delta State in general by constantly investing in human capital to ensure economic development.

Therefore, Midwestern and its JV Partner, SunTrust Atlantic Energies hereby invite suitably qualified Nigerian students to apply for its 2024/2025 scholarship schemes. The scholarship scheme is aimed at promoting academic excellence and improving skill-based education among the youth of our host communities and Delta State.

SECONDARY SCHOOL COMMUNITY AWARD
Requirements:
  • Scholarship is open to JSS 1 & JSS 2 Students only
  • Admission letter to a secondary school in Nigeria
  • Result of the last year in primary school or JSS1 result.
  • Birth Certificate
  • Identification letter signed by the Ward Councilor or CACC (Community Accredited Contact-men Committee).

UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY AWARD For Host Communities Only
Requirements:
  • Scholarship is open to 100 & 200 level students at the time of application.
  • Minimum of 5 Credits in SSCE or GCE including Mathematics & English, in one sitting.
  • Current University ID Card.
  • Identification letter signed by the Ward Councilor or CACC (Community Accredited Contact-men Committee).

UNIVERSITY MERIT AWARD For Delta State Indigenes Only
Requirements:
  • Scholarship is open to 200 level students who must have a minimum CGPA of 3.5 at the time of application.
  • Minimum of 5 Credits in SSCE or GCE including Mathematics & English, in one sitting.
  • JAMB/UTME & University admission letter from an accredited/approved university in Nigeria.
  • Current University ID Card.
  • Letter of identification from LGA.
