Ferdinand slams Man Utd for five-player sales as they lost 'everything the club stood for

 

When Rio Ferdinand departed Manchester United, he believed that the club had sold Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez, Jonny Evans, and the Da Silva twins at a steep loss.

Sir Alex Ferguson left the club after Ferdinand left, and Man Utd hasn't won the Premier League since the iconic Scot's time at Old Trafford.

Additionally, Ferdinand considers Evans' sale to be a "travesty" and believes Evans' replacement, a Northern Irishman, to be the finest central defender in the league.

While Welbeck and Hernandez were allowed to leave after failing to make an impression after the Ferguson period, Evans was sold to West Brom for £6 million in 2015.

Chicharito is playing for the LA Galaxy in Major League Soccer in the United States, the Da Silva brothers are still competing in Brazil with Rafael at Botafogo and Fabio at Gremio, while Welbeck has seven goals in 37 games for Brighton this season.

And former Manchester United center-back Ferdinand criticized the team for losing players who were the "lifeblood" of the organization.

One of the major mistakes they made, according to Ferdinand on Vibe With Five, was selling the Da Silva twins, Welbeck, Chicharito, and Jonny Evans all at once.

"They were the heart and soul of Man United; they were all Man United boys; and that was also lost.

Ferdinand responded, "Yeah," when asked if the group would have been good enough to play for Manchester United after leaving the club. Rafa, Fabio Da Silva, Chicharito, Welbeck, and others might have continued to play at the same level for the remainder of their careers based only on what they accomplished at Man United.

 

"Jonny Evans was among the worst people that have ever departed at that time. He ought to have been prevented from leaving the club. When we all departed, he was the best center-half on the team.
