The Flying Eagles went into the game on the back of a 2-1 loss to Uganda. Sadiq Isiyaka was the hero for the Flying Eagles as his second half penalty kick was enough to secure the win. They Flying Eagles will take on Senegal in their final group game on Friday.

The Senegalese lost 1-0 to Uganda in their second Group B fixture on Monday. Following the win, Uganda have booked their place into the semi-finals of the men's football event. A draw should be enough for Ladan Bosso men against Senegal to pick a semifinal ticket.

The win means the Falconets have progressed into the semi-finals. The Christopher Danjuma-led side have now won back-to-Jack group games. In their first group game of the competition the Nigerian U-20 women's team beat Morocco 2-0.

Loveth Edeh gave the Falcons the lead in the 13th minute before Motunrayo Ezekiel added the second on 50 minutes. An own goal by a Senegalese player on 51 minutes made it 3-0 before Chioma Olise added the fourth on 80 minutes.
