Let me share a quick story with you. Accepting my admission in 2017 wasn't easy. My aunties and uncles fought with me because they actually wanted me to study medicine. Seeing that I was given admission to study Nutrition and Dietetics caused quite a big uproar. I wasn't moved even though I had no inkling of what the course is about. To shorten the story, I became so interested in the course during my penultimate year.

So here's the real gist😌

During my 6-weeks internship, we had an encounter with a Doctor who prescribed a high protein diet for a child diagnosed of a chronic kidney disease. The Head dietitian was quite angry and worried knowing the aftermath, so she asked us to come face to face with the Doctor. As a result of the doctor's ego, she began to question us but we fired back knowing we had to save a life.

So what happened in the end? She concurred because we spoke with so much confidence, being aware of our profession and why the child needs to be placed on a No-Salt diet or a Low-Salt diet.

So what's your take home?
Having knowledge is not enough, you need to develop the act of confidence and let it show in and through you. You may know something the world needs but your ability to convey what you know comes through your confidence and boldness to speak.
