Hilda Bassi adjusts Guinness world record on her bio as Allan Fisher takes over
Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, recently removed the designation of being the world record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual from her bio on X. This decision followed the announcement by Guinness World Records declaring Irish chef Alan Fisher as the new titleholder on Tuesday, November 7.

In a post shared on X on Tuesday evening, Hilda Baci gracefully acknowledged the new record holder, stating, "Just as Chef Lata respectfully acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and later fine-tuning the wording, I've adjusted mine too. Achieving such a record is no small feat, and I know this firsthand. I have only the greatest admiration for the hard work it took for Alan to reach such heights."

She further emphasized the significance of sportsmanship and recognizing progress, regardless of the accolades displayed in her bio. Hilda Baci expressed her enduring gratitude for the honor of holding the prestigious record and extended her heartfelt appreciation to her supporters.

Guinness World Records revealed that Fisher from Ireland cooked for 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan, surpassing the previous record held by Hilda Baci by over 24 hours.
