University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) Scholarships is to better develop the international education of the university, connect with domestic and foreign high-quality science and education resources, and build a crucial platform for international cooperation and exchange.



In addition to its administrative responsibilities for managing international students' admission and services, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) also provides Chinese language and culture programs for international students. To date, USTC has trained nearly 2000 international students from over 100 countries, with 63% pursuing Ph.D. degrees and 29% pursuing master's degrees.

USTC Scholarships are available to international students and scholars who seek a supportive environment for study and research. USTC is renowned for its advanced science and engineering programs, as well as unique management and humanities programs. The university has been recognized as one of the best universities in China by internationally acclaimed university rankings such as THE, QS, and Nature Index.

To be eligible for the USTC Scholarships, applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health and not currently studying in China. Bachelor's degree applicants must hold a high school diploma (equivalent to a high school diploma in China), have an HSK5 certificate, and be under 30 years old by September 1st, 2024. Master's degree applicants must have a bachelor's degree and be under 35 years old by September 1st, 2024. Doctoral degree applicants must have a master's degree and be under 40 years old by September 1st, 2024.

The scholarship duration is from September 2024 to July 2025, with a full tuition waiver, free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy, monthly stipends ranging from CNY2,500 to CNY3,500, and comprehensive medical insurance. Applicants must submit an online application form, photocopy of passport, study or research proposal, updated CV, two letters of recommendation, photocopy of foreigner physical examination form, proof of language proficiency, and academic transcripts.

Interested and qualified applicants can apply online by completing the application form and selecting the fellowship. The deadline for applications is March 31, 2024
