KAAD is the scholarship institution of the German Catholic Church and supports postgraduate students and scientists from developing countries in various regions around the world. The scholarship program expects applicants to demonstrate above-average performance in their studies and research, focus their studies or research on achieving permanent reintegration in their home region, show religious and social commitment, and be willing to engage in inter-religious dialogue. KAAD provides scholarships, educational programs, and spiritual and personal assistance to scholars.

Scholarship Requirements:
To be eligible for the KAAD International Scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Come from a developing or emerging country in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or Latin America and currently reside there.
- Have a university degree and professional experience from your home country.
- Aim to acquire a master's degree or a PhD at a German university, or conduct a post-doctoral research project (2-6 months) at a German university.
- Be a Catholic Christian or belong to a Christian denomination. Candidates from other religions can apply if proposed by Catholic partners and demonstrate commitment to interreligious dialogue.
- Possess German language skills before starting the studies (KAAD can provide a language course of up to 6 months in Germany).

The KAAD scholarship offers full funding for successful applicants.

Method of Application:
Applications are submitted online through the provided online application portal. Follow the instructions on the page to complete and submit the form accordingly. KAAD works with focus- and partner countries in specific regions, and applications are channeled through the respective Partner Committees in those countries.
