Tinubu's Representatives to Meet NLC and TUC Leaders Amid Ongoing Strike

In a bid to resolve the ongoing nationwide strike, the federal government has invited the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) for a meeting on Tuesday, June 4. The meeting aims to address the issues that led to the strike and find a solution.

The strike, which began on Monday, June 3, has seen a high level of compliance from workers across the country, with many joining the indefinite strike action. The NLC and TUC are demanding a significant increase in the minimum wage and a reversal of the government's decision to increase electricity tariffs.

The meeting, scheduled for 10 a.m., will be attended by representatives of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC). The government has expressed alarm over the level of compliance with the strike and hopes to find a resolution to the ongoing industrial action.
